MACMILLAN WORKSHOP

A workshop by MacMillan was organized at the Lemon Tree Hotel kaushambi on 15.11.19. The theme of the workshop was ‘Towards more meaningful Teaching and Learning’ and the resource person was Ms Manisha Dak.

The aim of the workshop was to help the language teachers to handle issues like large and mixed ability classrooms. It also highlighted the strategies for personalizing learning through ‘power-share’, imagination and ‘flipping classroom’. Demonstration of each of the activities was done either through a power point presentation or various group activities.

MMI TRAINING

 14 teachers of LPS Global School attended a four day workshop at Modern Montessori House, Greater Kailash 2 , South Delhi  to understand the basic principles involved in Montessori teaching and  to then develop ways to implement and integrate the methodologies and principles into the CBSE teaching system.

 The training was conducted by the Montessori Training expert,  Ms. Damyanti Chowdhary along with her colleague, Ms Deepika. The teachers were awarded with certificates on the successful completion of the programme.

SIX CORE SKILLS FOR ENHANCED LEARNING IN CLASSROOM

A workshop was conducted by Ms Anju Tiwari and Ms Benu Sidhu on 2nd December 2018 on Six Core Skills for Enhanced Learning in Classroom in association with the British Council. They explained how leadership, critical thinking and citizenship qualities can be developed in the students during classroom teaching.

INSPIRING TEACHERS AND “NEW WAYS OF TEACHING ENGLISH IN A CLASSROOM”  

A workshop was conducted by Orient Black Swan on November 17, 2018 at Hotel Radisson, Noida.Ms. Anita Bahadur conducted a workshop on ‘Inspiring Teachers and “New ways of Teaching English in a Classroom”. Two teachers of  our school Ms Shivani Kalia  and Ms Sonia Sharma attended the workshop.

WORKSHOP ON ENGLISH PROFICIENCY

A workshop on English Proficiency in class-rooms was conducted by Ms Kaveri from Pearson on 28th March 2018. She talked about the importance of languages in our lives and the ways in which we acquire them. Various methods such as audio video aids, dictation etc. used to help students gain proficiency in English language were discussed. She also highlighted the manner in which these could be used to make acquisition of language, stress free.

CREATING A SECURE BASE IN SCHOOLS AND SUPPORTING 21st CENTURY LEADERS

Macmillan organised a workshop on “Creating a secure base in schools and supporting 21st Century Leaders” for the teachers held on 20th January, 2018.The Key speakers were Sameer Parekh, Nuria Ansari and S.C. Arora. Mr. S.C. Arora, Vice Chairman, LPS Global School, Noida presented his expert views on Education in 21st Century.

WORKSHOP ON MONTESSORI TEACHING METHODOLOGY

 On 12th January 2018 a workshop on Montessori teaching methodology was organised for Pre- Primary and primary teachers of our school and the entire teaching staff of Little Pearls School. The resource person was the highly erudite and knowledgeable –Headmistress (Pre-primary Wing) of Bal Bharti School, Ganga Ram Marg. She was accompanied by her colleague. On reaching the school they went around the campus and observed some of the classes. They were impressed with the infrastructure and the teachers’ involvement and dedication. Later in the day, she conducted a session for the teachers and threw light on the methods in which different concepts could be taught to the students using Montessori modules and equipment. She had brought with her some relevant equipment to help enhance the understanding of the teachers. The workshop was followed by a Q&A session to help teachers with their individual queries. The session was very insightful and provided practical hands on learning experience.

WORKSHOP ON 21ST CENTURY EDUCATION

Mr. Raja, an Astro-Physics professor and Ms. Michelle W, Vice Chancellor of Cambridge University, USA visited our school on 2nd September, 2017. Ms. Michelle held a discussion on 'Education in 21st century' and was followed by Mr. Raja, who talked about some modern and traditional methods of teaching Mathematics and Physics. Teachers from Gaurs International School also attended the workshop.
